CampbellRigg partnered with Zenit Bank to design a next-generation retail banking environment that elevates brand perception and customer engagement in an increasingly competitive financial market. This project combined brand identity, contemporary interior design and strategic visual communications to create a flagship branch experience that reflects Zenit’s ambition, reliability and forward-looking ethos.

Where past and future meet
Stipulated in the creative brief was a requirement for very contemporary styling to the interior design of the branch environment more akin to an Art Gallery installation. The hope is to set a new trend in the Russian financial retail market.
“We know, from our experience and research, that a cookie cutter customer approach no longer works in today’s 24/7 global and digital-first environment. This also applies to physical or geographical communities. Each community has its own unique needs and preferences, which is why our branch of the future strategy is all about continuing to deliver hyper localised experiences tailored to the needs of each individual community,” said Campbell Rigg.

Tasked with developing a new identity and branch environment concept to take Zenit to the next stage. Our management teams had several key objectives beyond the purely functional design that were integral to the success of the project. The consistency of implementing the brand identity had been an issue for the client in the past.
We created a contemporary open plan environment for customers to engage with Zenit colleagues and the brand platform, whilst maintaining a business-like tone.

Repositioning Zenit for the Future of Banking
Zenit Bank sought to redefine its retail branch experience to reflect a more contemporary, lifestyle-focused banking model that resonates with modern consumers and creative communities. Traditional transaction-driven environments were no longer sufficient, the bank needed a branch that communicated trust, quality and relevance while encouraging deeper financial conversations.

We began by defining a strategic positioning and visual identity framework that suited Zenit’s category and growth ambitions. This foundation informed every aspect of the branch experience, from spatial planning to material selection and communications hierarchy.

Open, barrier-free spatial planning that fosters human interaction and breaks with traditional bank layouts. The design, inspired by art gallery aesthetics, uses graphic panels, indirect lighting and premium materials to elevate atmosphere and customer comfort.
• Unified Communications Framework
A consistent suite of interior and exterior graphics and messaging that guides customers intuitively while reinforcing brand cues across touchpoints.
