The Rise of the Micro-Bank.
At CampbellRigg, we partner with leading financial institutions to create future-ready retail banking formats that extend market reach and strengthen brand relevance. For VTB24, one of Russia’s largest retail banks, we developed the VTB24 Mini Bank, a compact, accessible micro-branch concept designed to bring key financial services into high-footfall environments such as shopping malls and transit hubs.

Strategic Challenge: Bringing Banking Closer to Customers. VTB24 sought a new branch format to enhance its brand visibility, provide proximity services in high-traffic areas, and create more accessible customer interactions. Traditional banks often present visual and spatial barriers that inhibit engagement, particularly in convenience settings. The goal was to break through these limitations by designing a micro-branch that feels approachable, modern and service-focused.

By anticipating where people live, shop or commute, micro-branches offer a powerful extension of a bank’s retail footprint that meets evolving customer expectations for convenience and accessibility.
